Danes si bomo podrobneje pogledali sveži hit izvajalca Pop Smoke z naslovom What You Know Bout Love.
Pop Smoke je bil ameriški raper, pevec in pisec pesmi. Mnogi ga izpostavljajo kot osrednjo figuro Brooklyn drill glasbenega stila. Pop je svoj stil razvijal predvsem v sodelovanju z angleškimi glasbeniki, ki se osredotočajo na bolj minimalistično in agresivno instrumentalno podlago kot drill glasbeniki iz ZDA.
Odraščal je v rodnem Brooklyn-u, kariero pa je pričel leta 2018, ko je izdal svoj debitantski singl "Mpr (Panic Part 3 Remix)", pozornost kritikov in poslušalcev pa pritegnil s pesmijo "Welcome to the Party" leta 2019.
Njegov drugi mixtape, Meet the Woo 2, je izdan 7. februarja 2020 in se takoj uvrstil na sedmo mesto Billboard 200 lestvice.
Zgolj dva tedna po izdaji mixtape-a, je Pop Smoke udeležen v streljanju v njegovi hiši v Los Angeles-u, za posledicami česar je tudi umrl. Policija ni uspela z gotovostjo utrditi ali je šlo za streljanje povezano s tolpami ali za tragičen zaključek poskusa ropa hiše. Pop je bil star samo 20 let.
50 Cent je kot izvršni producent zaključil Pop-ov posthumni debitantski album, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, in ga izdal julija lani. Album je debitiral na samem vrhu Billboard 200 lestvice, prav vsi singli z albuma pa so se uvrstili med Billboard Hot 100. Z albuma je izdana serija mednarodnih top-10 singlov, med drugimi najbolj uspešen "For the Night" in "What You Know Bout Love", ki ga poslušamo v ozadju.
Za produkcijo slednje pesmi pa so uporabili sempl, ki prihaja iz pesmi Differences glasbenika Ginuwine.
Ginuwine je prav tako ameriški pevec in pisec besedil, ki pa je dodatno uspešen tudi kot plesalec in filmski igralec.
Ginuwine je kariero pričel ko član skupine Swing Mob v ranih 90tih. Par let kasneje je podpisal še solo pogodbo z Epic Records in izdal serijo multi-platinastih albumov in singlov ter postal ena največjih zvezd R&B glasbe na prelomu tisočletja.
Pesem Differences prihaja iz uspešnega albuma The Life iz leta 2001, ki je tudi prvi od njegovih albumov, katerega ni v celoti sproduciral Timbaland.
Pesem je bila najuspešnejši singl z albuma in se je na vrhu U.S. R&B lestvice zadržala štiri tedne.

In the past years we’ve exposed the background and samples of newer hits and evergreens. This year we will focus on songs that are most frequently sampled in the music industry. This week we have arrived at number 49 of our chart. Number 49 of the most often sampled songs is 'Blow your head' from Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s. This James Brown influenced funk creation offers an exceptional intro to the song, that many musicians, mostly hip hop artists of the 90's, used as sample for their own songs.
