On Saturday the Slovenian ski jumper Prevc confirmed his excellent form with the victory at the team competition. On Sunday he was leading after the first round, but in the finals he remaine behind his colleague Jurij Tepeš. Freund from Germany took the seventh place, which was enough for the total of 1,729 points, which equalized him with Prevc. But the globe went to the German ski jumper, who had more victories.
The rules are clear, although even the members of the German team said that when two ski jumpers win the same number of points, the victory should go to both. "I tend to be critical towards myself, and when considering the facts it is obvious why he won the globe. He won more times, and I must agree that you need to be convincing and sovereign in order to win the crystal globe. It simply means I should have won more times. In the end he did it with more perfection. There is no doubt he deserves it," Prevc commented.
It was a most successful weekend in Planica, but with a slightly bitter aftertaste. The Slovenian eagles won all three races, with two double victories in individual races.
