She perished after a complicated surgery, by which the veterinarians tried to fix a broken thighbone. After more than a month of freedom Zooja was in bad shape. She lost more than three kilos of weight and was also missing a lot of teeth.

The problem with the thighbone was spotted during her transfer from the transport cage into the quarantine cage. The female lynx also couldn’t be operated on right away, as she first had to get the sedatives out of her system. After the surgery her temperature fell and the veterinarians couldn’t restore it back to normal.
