Less than a year after Weiss’ death, the director Dušan Moravec, with the help of the late singer’s family, produced a film chronicle of the life and work of one of Slovenia’s pop music icons. "I didn’t know Simona Weiss and I never listened to her music, since I was active mostly in punk circles, where her music wasn’t popular. We felt almost a kind of contempt to that type of music. It wasn’t until I started to work on this film that I realized what a huge star she was," said Moravec in an interview with MMC.

A sneak preview of the documentary, titled Good Night, My Love, was shown at Ljubljana’s Kindovor movie theater. Among the attendees were members of the singer’s family, friends, and acquaintances. Many shed tears after the screening. "I tried to convey the feelings of the people who knew her. To this I added archival footage of her tours that was given to me by her family," explained Moravec.

The film, which was produced in six months, features recollections about the singer from Tereza Kesovija, Goran Karan, Al Bano, Tomaž Domicelj, Sašo Hribar, Manca Košir, Elza Budau, Peter Juratovec, and others. "I got to know a new person – a woman with charisma and plenty of positive energy. I feel that, in a way, she was overlooked," said Moravec and added that when creating films. He is always interested in things that are so obvious that they remain hidden.

"Half of Slovenia knows Simona Weiss very well, but the other half doesn’t. I hope that this film will introduce her to that other half," added Moravec. "People who listened to her music loved her very much – not just as a singer but also a as a person deserving of great respect."
