Štefanec is a lawyer from Prekmurje who was selected by President Borut Pahor last week to head the Anti-graft Commission for a 6-year term beginning end of March. He said he would not resign from the post and added that his political views were his personal right supported by the Constitution. He said that that was why he did not feel it was necessary to let everyone know he was a member of the ruling Positive Slovenia. He also asked the public to give him a chance to prove he could manage the job.
