The 15-hour parliamentary debate ended just before midnight. Health Minister Milojka Kolar Celarc expressed satisfaction with the outcome. "What is important at the end of the day are the values a person holds, what he believes in and what he fights for," she said.
PM Miro Cerar did not give any public statement after the session, but did use Twitter to say: "Moving on to provide the best possible public healthcare." 25 MPs voted for her dismissal, while 49 MPs voted against her dismissal.
The debate was full of criticism directed against the work of Minister Kolar Celarc, especially from the ranks of the opposition Slovenian Democrats SDS and New Slovenia NSi parties. Individual critical remarks could also be heard from some coalition deputies. She was mostly criticized for inaction with regards to shortening the long hospital waiting times, inaction regarding corruption, and a lack of systemic legislation.
