The movie, directed by Dejan Zečević, is a Serbian-Slovenian-Korean co-production. The Rift is a science fiction thriller, which will also feature Serbian star actor Dragan Mićanović and U.S TV film legend Monte Markham.

Katarina Čas arrived for the shooting straight from New York, where she attended the premiere of Danny Collins. In it she played alongside Hollywood star Al Pacino. In the next three weeks Katarina Čas will now be shooting at different locations in Belgrade and Pančevo.

According to the official distributors of the movie, Karantanija Cinemas, the science fiction thriller The Rift is a story about U.S and Serbian agents on a mission to protect information from a fallen U.S army satellite. Once they arrive at the crash location, the agents quickly find out that their task will not be routine. Instead of the satellite they find something else... something hostile, something from outer space. The fight for survival begins.

The move is a great feat in this genre for the producers Milan Todorović and Marko Jocić, who gained fame and success with their previous projects Zone of the Dead and Nymph. The distributors add that Nymph (Mamula) is currently in 4th place on the list of most watched foreign movies on the U.S service provider Netflix.

Apart from Jocić and Todorović (Viktorija Film and Talking Wolf Productions), joining the Serbian-Slovenian-Korean co-production are also More and Dorup (South Korea), BBO Star (Slovenia) as well as Digitalkraft and Media Plus (Serbia).
