The country's Court of Audit is still working on the audit of 11 municipalities that are indebted.
For the last couple of years, the most indebted municipality has been Gornji Petrovci, with 1.470 euros of debt per capita. The mayor say that the reason lies in the decreasing number of inhabitants.
In its previous audits, the Court has found that most irregularities have been made by raising loans.
