Therefore the web portal compiled its list of the ten most beautiful cities of Europe worth seeing, and Piran is one of them.

Belfast (Ireland) took the lead, the second came Gent (Belgium), and the capital of Finland Helsinki was mentioned as the third. Our coastal city took the eight place, ahead of Valencia and Wroclaw, behind Mantova.

"Piran is simply the most beautiful city in Slovenia, with Venetian influence and a cathedral watching over the Adriatic Sea, with a labyrinthine tangle of narrow streets leading to the beautiful Tartini Square," Huffington Post elaborated. At only 90 minutes from Ljubljana it is very suitable for a one-day trip, but they also emphasized that Piran is especially beautiful in the dark, when its famous restaurants and pubs come alive.
