It tells the story of a love affair that shook the aristocratic world. In it, a rich marquis steals the heart of the lovely maid Cecchino. The lovers become victims of the social norms of the time, which will not allow for a happy ending.

Yulia Roschina says the performance is a caricature of the times in which we live. The viewer is confronted with the fact that not everything that society accepts as "right" or "normal" is necessarily beneficial to the individual and society. Viewers are confronted with these issues through the themes of love and relationships. The translation of the libretto was done by Henrik Neubauer, who described the opera as lovely and full of enchanting arias and recitatives.
