The native of Črna na Koroškem finished this year's season at an excellent second place in the overall World Cup standings. She missed out on winning the big crystal globe by only a few points. "I think it would do me good to slow down my rhythm a little. Not to be under stress. It's difficult to get used to the stress I've had to go through in the last couple of weeks of the season," said Maze. She won three times in this year's World Cup season. She "exploded" at the World Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek, where she won two gold medals and one silver medal.

My head wants to race, my body wants something else
Maze has stressed several times that she doesn't want to talk about her decision on whether she would continue her career. She did emphasize though that she doesn't want to make a quick decision. "I'd like to have some peace and rest, for things to calm down. Every year it's more difficult. Every year I find it more difficult to motivate myself and push myself to the limit and do all that traveling. I'm starting to have enough of it. My body wants something else. However, my head still wants to race, so I still have conflict within myself and I need time to really decide on how to move forward. As I said: listening to yourself is always the best thing to do," finished Maze.
