Alpine Skier Maria Höfl Riesch continues with her exceptional performances in January. She won today's Alpine Skiing-World Cup Cortina d'Ampezzo women's downhill and extended her overall World Cup lead. Tina Weirather of Liechtenstein finished second; Nicole Schmidhofer of Austria was third.
There will be another downhill race tomorrow and another Super-G on Sunday. On the 1st and 2nd of February the 50th women's Golden Fox alpine skiing World Cup will take place in Kranjska Gora as it has been moved from its traditional Maribor Pohorje slope due to lack of snow.
