Due to the geographical diversity of Slovenia it also has a rich and diverse tradition for how the bundles are supposed to be made. The bundles of plants, or "butare" as they are also called, have different names in different regions in Slovenia and also include different types of greenery in accordance to the region.

They are made from hazel rods, catkins, ivy, even branches of fruit trees. In some areas they even add fruit and pastry to the bundles.
The villagers of Volčina will this year again set up a giant "butara". Because they made it to the Guinnes world of records, they will this year remain at the 29m long "butara".
