Trade unions strongly oppose some of the ideas. They are very much against the announced reduction of wages in the public sector. The government wants to reduce wages in the sector by 5 % and some of its employees would need to be laid off.

The President of Public Sector Union Confederation is convinced that Slovenia merely follows the instructions of Brussels. Employers also emphasize that the program should not only strive to please Brussels, but that it must indicate a way out of the crisis. The document needs to be sent to Brussels until the end of the month.
