Zavec, who turns 39 on the 13th of March, will box against the 29-year-old Yengoyan for the world champion title in the WBF Super Welterweight category (up to 69,85 kg). The Armenian, who lives in Gent, Belgium, has won 31 of his 33 professional fights (21 with a knockout). He has only lost once, and has once ended a fight with a draw. Yengoyan, whose nickname is »The Beast from the East«, ranks high on 12th place on the BoxRec standings, while Zavec is 41st.

Zavec: I chose the strongest
"There were a lot of names to choose from. I just couldn't decide for a weaker opponent, and so I chose the strongest opponent I could face. He's at the very top; he's 12th in the world. It's exactly what I wanted. At the same time it would also be a good starting point for future fights. I'm really pleased and happy. Everything comes to those who wait," is how the native of Ptuj opened his press conference in Ljubljana.

Sasha Yengoyan is also 11 centimeters taller than Zavec (183cm:172cm). "I haven’t noticed any of his weaknesses. He's very unpredictable and daring. His quality is unquestionable. Regarding his height, I will prepare for that. I'll try to be more cunning," the popularly known Mr. Sympathikus was full of praises for his next opponent.

Zavec's boxing record is 34 wins and 3 losses. The last time he boxed was last year in October, when he became European champion in the WBO version after beating Ferenc Hafner from Hungary.
