The fair is a place for hunters, fishermen, canine lovers, sports enthusiasts, and nature aficionados to gather and have a good time. Exhibitors will be displaying and selling hunting and fishing gear, clothes, footwear, and vehicles. The fair was organized in collaboration with the Hunters’ Association of Slovenia (LZS), which was founded 110 years ago, and the Slovenian Fishing Association (RZS), which has been around for more than 130 years.

At Friday’s opening ceremony, the organizers highlighted the importance of Earth Day, which takes place on Saturday. They also talked about the preservation of our planet’s biodiversity – an issue that is crucial for our future, our health, our safety, and economic growth.

Over the next few days, a forum will discuss several key questions, e.g. how to balance the interests of those who want to farm against the interests of those who just want to enjoy nature.

The 10th International Hunting and Fishing Fair and the 4th International Fair for Outdoor Activities and Recreation will run until Sunday, April 23. The fairs will feature a host of lectures, conferences, demonstrations, and competitions. An exhibition of vintage cars, entitled “Avto-moto klasika“, will also take place. Also on the agenda: a red deer bellowing competition and a wild game salami contest. Hungry visitors can partake of wild game goulash and fisherman’s soup. The event line-up also includes live music from choirs and horn players.
