In Orova vas they don't know much about Ludwig's first years in life. There exist rumours that he had been tortured in the past. "He lived on a ranch. The owner had the horses for field work and to show them off to visitors. However, the horses were not cared for properly. If they did something wrong, did not obey or were just stubborn, they were sometimes tortured. Badly." said Naja Šporn, who takes care of Ludwig.
After a serious shoulder injury, Ludwig was no longer suitable for riding. His owner wanted to kill him. A girl named Vanja found out about the horse, starting taking care of it and did a very good job at that. "Love and time heal everything. Later, Vanja got a job and had kids and they could no longer spend a lot of time together. They then gave the horse to us. As soon as it made its first steps on our land I fell in love with it and it is now mine," added Šporn.
Plays with him in the horse pen and takes him for walks
When Šporn was awarded the task to take care of Ludwig, the horse was very quiet and did not seem to have any fear. He behaved well on the field. Naja Šporn wishes she could spend every single day with the horse, but because of her school responsibilities she knows that is not possible. "Our day usually begins with me helping a bit around the centre. I then first brush the horse and sometimes take him for walks. Previously I even used to ride him, but now he's retired because of his age and we just play in the horse pen or go far walks," ended Šporn.
