The government has dismissed Davor Dominikuš from his position of general secretary of the directorate for social affairs.

They have not yet revealed as to why the dismissal was made, but unofficial information points to irregularities in solving appeals about the allocation of welfare. There are 11 thousand unsolved appeals, some dating to 2012. The Higher Labor and Social Court recently ruled that the ministry wrongly interpreted a part of the law on social benefits because of which the socially disadvantaged were wronged.

Starting on the 1st April, the Directorate will be led by Nace Kovac, who was, until now, the acting Executive Director of the Slovenian Association for Mental Health Šent.
