The police has so far been called in eight times this season to deal with skiing accidents. Five of the accidents resulted in serious injuries, while three skiers suffered light injuries. Accidents mainly happen due to carelesness, inexperience and speeding.

On the other hand there have been no reported cases of skiing under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs this season. The police patrols the country's ski resorts together with officers from Croatia, due to the large number of Croatian skiers on Slovenia's ski slopes.
