The proposal comes after a convicted pedophile was invited to the opening of the consulate in Melbourne in March. Newly released photos showed the ambassador sitting at the same table with the convicted sex offender.

Many Australian-Slovenes were outraged by the incident. The decision to recall the ambassador will be made by President Borut Pahor.
