The 23rd International Summer Festival Lent in Maribor won't be so luxurious this year, but in the spirit of well tested festival concept it will offer a number of music, theatre, dance and sport events for all tastes, wishes and generations. The festival happening will be more than usually concentrated within the city centre, with the participation of non-governmental cultural creators, and in closer cooperation with public institutes.
The folklore festival has been moved into the Maribor Theatre, and only the final performance of folklorists will take place in the open air, at the Leon Štukelj square, on July 4, with fireworks. A day earlier a concert by Sanja Ilič and Balkanika will take place. The other major events have been moved to the Minoriti stage – evening concerts of famous musicians, e.g. Al Di Meola, Bill Frisell, Hugh Masekela.
