Slovenians witnessed the country's second jackpot in the EuroJackpot lottery draw on the 16th of May. It's worth exactly (if you can read it out at all?) 28,207,473.90 euros. The ticket with the winning combination was bought for the 20th round of the lottery game. The winning numbers were 9-28-36-42-43 with bonus numbers 2 and 8.
In accordance with the Gambling Winning Tax the Lottery announced that a tax of 15 percent of the prize sum was deducted and transferred to the municipality of the winners' permanent residency. The exact sum that was paid out after the tax deduction stands at 23,976,352.82 euros.
On Thursday we reported that the lucky ticket was purchased by two locals at a petrol station in Žalec. The two locals will divide the prize. At least that's according to Žalec Mayor Janko Kos, who is also happy about the unexpected funding his municipality will get – around EUR 4.2 m.
The biggest winning so far 57 million
EuroJackpot is a classic international lottery game. It's staged by 29 organizers from 14 European countries. Lottery Slovenia has been part of the game since its very beginning in March 2012. The game is characterized by an exceptionally large prize pot for the main Jackpot, which is worth at least EUR 10m every Friday. The jackpot can even reach EUR 90m.
