"I knew what the match means to us and what it brings us. I think my decision to leave the second half of the match was normal. I usually follow these kind of difficult matches in my own way," explained Guberac and continued: "The better team won. I always claimed that and it was confirmed again today. There is a big difference in the quality, approach and many other things. I knew we would beat Celje. With this win we rescued our season. Winning the football cup is better than finishing second. Nobody remembers anymore that we finished second last year."

The alpha and omega of the Slovenian first league football club from the coast highlighted Koper's ability to keep winning in the season's decisive games. "Two months ago I said the team was already mature. Next year I expect an even better Koper. I expect the club to make another step forward."

"I consider my players as my sons, and they know that. Their prize money will be high. And they know that I always give them what they deserve, and much more. Pučko, Lotrič, Šme, Palčič, Blažič, Štulac, Črnigoj, Krivičić – we've been pushing these boys forward for three, four years now. Perhaps because of that we failed to qualify for European competition once or twice. But all that will pay off. I trust them," Guberac was optimistic.
