In Ljubljana, the graduates gathered at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre at high noon to dance to Die Fledermaus (The Bat), an operetta written by Johann Strauss II.

Due to an ongoing quarrel between dance schools, separate mass quadrille events were organized. The Ljubljana event was organized by Urška Pro, while in Kočevje, Novo mesto, Nova Gorica, Postojna, Koper, Trbovlje, Murska Sobota, and Ptuj the dances were performed under the auspices of the Dance Association of Slovenia. President Borut Pahor was on hand for the Maribor mass quadrille event, which was organized by Salsero. Other European cities also joined in on the fun.

Over the past few years, these traditional parades have secured no less than nine entries in the Guinness Book of World Records. Since 2001, more than 300,000 high school graduates from 100 European cities participated in the parades.
