Both tourist sights in the capital will remain green from today till March 17, the name-day of the patron saint Patrick, the day of largest celebrations and parades all over the world.

The Irish embassy has also prepared an evening of traditional Irish music and dance at Philharmonic tonight at 7 p.m. At the concert titled Let's colour the city green musical groups Noreia and Bog Bards will perform, together with the members of the Mandolin Orchestra Ljubljana. Dancers from School of Irish Dance will join them on stage.

The Irish Tourist Organization is the best in »selling« their day to the world – the holiday of the patron saint Patrick. As a part of the Global Greening project a number of local sights all over the world will be illuminated in green colour symbolizing Ireland – the Empire State Building in New York, the Sydney Opera House, the pyramids of giza, the Niagra falls, the great wall of China...

St. Patrick, whose name-day is on March 17, is a famous saint who spread Christianity across Ireland. Thanks to him Christianity in Ireland became so strong. Today St Patrick is considered the main patron saint of Ireland.
