Representatives on the supervisory board defended their choice, which caused an uproar among experts and the public. The Social Democrats have threatened to leave the coalition if nothing happens. The Corruption Prevention Commission said the appointment was the result of systemic and political corruption, which has been a key cause of Slovenia's moral and economic demise. The commission called on lawmakers to pass legislation that would make such things not only immoral but also illegal. One protest is scheduled for Friday in front of Luka Koper headquarters. Another is to be held on 5 September in front of the government building in Ljubljana.
