Janez Janša thanked his supporters via Twitter and has announced a press-conference for 12:00 p.m. The press-conference will be covered live by MMC TV.
Apart from Janša two other co-defendants, Ivan Črnkovič and brigadier Tone Krkovič, also got 22 months in prison. All three will also have to pay 37.000 euros. The three have announced they would use all possible extraordinary legal remedies, including the protection of legality at the Supreme Court.
Members of the Janša's SDS party are in shock and they say they stand united behind their leader. Other parties say the ruling means Janša will no longer be able to hold a public position.
