Locals from the Ljubljana suburb of Vevče protested about the pollution and noise caused by the factory. 172 workers will be left without work. The fate of another 700 employees is also uncertain.

The factory deals with reusing waste paper and other types of packaging. The management of the company has already turned to the government to try find a solution for Papir Servis and is thinking about relocating its operations to another location.

Papir Servis moved to Vevče only this summer, after locals drove it away from its previous location in another Ljubljana suburb, Vodmat.
