This truly seems to be Peter Prevc’s year. In the first competition of the male ski jumping world cup competition in Planica, Prevc placed third.

The new winner of the ski jumping world cup is Severin Freund, a ski jumper of German descent while the second place went to Norwegian Anders Bardal.

Prevc faced strong winds during his jump, but he said that while he knew something was not right, the last thing he thought of were windy conditions. It was only after he saw all the extra points awarded for his jump did he realize just how strong the winds were. When asked to comment on the fact his little brother, Cene Prevc also competed and won points, he said that while he knew Cene was good, he did not expect him to place this high in his first competition and congratulated him.

Alltogether, 7 ski jumpers of Slovenian descent won points in the finals of today’s competition: Robert Kranjec, Cene Prevc, Nejc Dežman, Matjaž Pungertar, Jurij Tepeš and Robert Hrgota.
