After causing a traffic accident Vilfan irrevocably resigned from his post. In the National Assembly he will be replaced by Alenka Lampe of the party Positive Slovenia.

Vilfan, who quit the party Positive Slovenia a few days ago stressed in his short speech that he knew immediately after the accident what he had to do. As a MP he was always aware of his responsibilities and therefore he took the consequences after the accident, he said. Vilfan once again apologized to the pedestrian he hit with his car under the influence of alcohol and he called on all drivers not to drink and drive.
