"I have to say that I do remember some of the things I saw, which means they were expressive. According to my taste the collections were mostly wearable. This is to my liking, as I tend to look at the functional value of clothes. There were also some extravagant pieces of clothing, especially accessories, but that was a feast for the eyes more than anything else," is how radio host Eva Longyka Marušič summed up the fashion show, without saying who was her favourite designer.
However the renowned Slovenian plastic surgeon, Franc Planinšek, did pick his favourite designer. This is how he saw the fashion show: "It was a very rich and diverse show. Every designer expressed his/her own personal style. I can't hide from the fact that for me, Urša's collection was absolutely the best. It was technically advanced and very creative. It was a very nice collection – the theme of the ice storm with Wagner's music of Tristan and Isolde ... it complemented one another perfectly." So, Planinšek's favourite creations were those of his ex-wife Urška Draž, who has been creating together with her brother Tomaž, under the brand Draž pletenine (Draž Knitwear), for more than 20 years now. They both still prove that knitwear can be both modern and versatile.
In the Naivje collection Draž Knitwear focused its fashion look on trees, which attracted much attention during this winter's natural disaster – from abstract knitted braids to fierce colours. Draž searched for aesthetics in trees, adequate for knitting techniques and textures, which then lose touch with trees through the process.
Planinšek added that he also liked Almira Sadar's collection entitled Odtenki modre (Shades of blue). Fashion designer Sadar dedicated the collection to the modern, active and witty female. Pieces of blue clothing (to replace the black colour) will be a must in the wardrobe of this kind of female for the autumn/winter 2014 season. Pieces can be found in different shades, textures and collages. A characteristic of Sadar's collection are also the enormous silhouettes with an emphasis on white colours and distinct three-dimensional shapes.
The evening fashion show for the autumn and winter 2014 season was opened by Mojca Celin, who judging by the faint reaction - thrilled the least. She presented her Trnuljčica (Sleeping Beauty) collection based on soft materials, womanly styled clothes and prestigious accessories.
Miro Mišljen received a bigger round of applause from the audience compared to the October week. He sought inspiration for his designs through meditation, in simple moments and little things. "I have to say that I felt close to Miro Mišljen's creations, which hasn't really happened in the past. The whole collection is warm and pleasant," were the words of the former fashion model and presently successfull businesswoman Maja Raspopović. She admitted that in the past she was often critical to Mišljen's work.
Apart from Draž's collection, another one of Raspopović's favourites was Maja Štamol's collection. This fashion designer focused on a functional collection of clothing called Simpl. It ensures comfort as well as the carefree combining, adding and taking away of clothing items. It also serves as a basis for the fashionably aware female.
