Slovene bishops ordinaries have meanwhile highlighted that today is a holiday of hope, joy and merry anticipation. In Slovenia, Protestant Bishop Geza Filo, the new leader of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, was also among those addressing the public.

In his TV Christmas message, he said that Christmas is a holiday of peace and compassion, hoping that the message would reach the ill, the poor, the suffering and those who fear the future, in particular.
