Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek is also talking with potential candidates who could take on the post of Economy Minister however this is taking place more quietly and away from the public eye.

Slovenia has been without an Economy Minister for the last 66 days. Finance Minister Uroš Čufer has temporarily taken over that job in mid-December. The minister Stanko Stepišnik resigned due to irregularities concerning his company and its acquisition of state subsidies.

Among many names for the post of the Economy Minister is also Alenka Avberšek from the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia, Director of Terme Olimia Zdravko Počivalšek, Robert Golob from the energy company Gen-I and State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Andreja Kert.
