The parking areas by the lake are fully occupied at the height of the tourist season. Those visiting Bohinj also choose to use buses, trains and the hop-on hop-off buses which take you to Pokljuka, and thus help ease the traffic situation with their decisions. Bohinj has now also introduced a web novelty, which enables visitors to get information about how occupied a parking area is before departing for Bohinj.

In cooperation with the Gorenjska Development Agency, Bohinj is also presenting another novelty, a yellow rickshaw, which will be going around Ribčev Laz and all the way to Stara Fužina. Along the route guests will also be presented with Bohinj’s landmarks. The whole idea is part of a joint international project Nature 2000.

The yellow rickshaw cost 5 thousand euros. In the next two years the test rides, as part of the area’s tourist offering, will show whether visitors and tourism workers will accept this new concept of sustainable mobility.
