Lindsey Vonn did better and crossed the line two tenths of a second ahead of Tina Maze, while Anna Fenninger remained behind for 36 milliseconds. These three competitors were in a class of their own; Cornelia Hütter of Austria who took the fourth place was left behind by 1.1 second.
The skier from Črna reversed the trend
Tina Maze thus managed to interrupt the string of races in which she was left behind Fenninger. After the World Championship the difference was 184 points, but the best Slovenian skier remained empty-handed in Maribor, while Fenninger won the giant slalom race. In the three races that followed the Austrian skier kept reducing the advantage by 20 points with each race.
The American took the lead
Lindsey Vonn with her 65th victory in Super-G races took the lead ahead of Fenninger; Vonn now leads by meagre eight points (440:432), and the final race of the season in Meribel will give us the winner. Tina Maze is in the third place (330) and the globe is out of her reach.
Six more races until the end of the season
Ilka Štuhec was 22nd, but won't participate in the finals of the season, as she was pushed to 28th place from the 20th. Six more races are still scheduled until the end of the season, next week both technical disciplines in Åre, and the finals in Meribel.
