Elisabeth Görgl won the race, closely followed by Anna Fenninger in second place. The winner of the first giant Slalom at Lake Luis, Lara Gut of Switzerland placed fourth. Yesterday’s winner, American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn withdrew from the race after she fell. Other Slovenian competitors who, besides Maze, also won points in the overall score were Ilka Štuhec and Vanja Brodnik.

In related news, the organizers of the skiing competitions for the world cup of female alpine skiers have been forced to cancel the giant slalom and slalom races that were scheduled for the 28th and 29th of December at Semmering due to a lack of snow.
