This week the 600,000th visitor entered Postojna Cave – last year this number was reached two months later. The director of the Postojna Cave company Marjan Batagelj explained that 15% of the visitors came from Italy, next largest number of tourists from South Korea, next is Germany, and local tourists from Slovenia.

The number of tourists visiting all the attractions managed by the Postojna Cave company last year reached almost 900,000. This year they expect their number to reach approximately 980,000. They are expecting a large number of visitors in the coming months, mainly at the traditional show Live Nativity Scene; the preparations for the show have already started.
"We are very cautious, meaning that we are building strong basis which will allow us to keep the good performance year after year. Every year we manage to achieve an even better result, and based on that we realistically expect one million of visitors next year," Batagelj said.
This year is an excellent business year for Postojna Cave; the business remains good, and consequently the records are being set. In the last six months they have set new records in the number of visitors every month, considering the number of visitors during the last 25 years. "The extraordinary business results are confirmed also by the AAA Creditworthiness Rating Excellence Certificate we were awarded this week. Postojna Cave is among the 1.98% of the best legal entities in Slovenia, classified into the highest AAA class, and is the only company with such certificate in its field of activity," Batagelj said.
