our days before her departure to Stockholm, ManuElla has presented her video for the Eurovision song contest, which she had filmed in Croatia.

First of all, I wanted the video to be packed with positive energy, just like the song itself. I didn't want a classic video for the Eurovision, which is typically filmed in a studio. I wanted ‘life’,” explained ManuElla, adding that Croatian film director Darko Drinovac helped make her idea come true.

Drinovac previously directed videos for performers such as Severina and 2Cellos. He’s already had some experience with the Eurovision, too, since he worked with Nina Badrić to make a video for the Eurovision song Nebo (The Sky) as well as for a song called Samo ljubezen (Just Love) by the Sestre (Sisters) drag act, who represented Slovenia at the Eurovision in 2002.

“I got a recommendation for [Drinovac] from a guitarist, Ivan Pešut, who also does guitar sounds for me. I had already heard of him on several occasions. Among other things, it had been said that he had the best picture of the video and an extraordinary talent for directing,” noted ManuElla.

The majority of the video was filmed in an industrial hall. The shooting took place from early in the morning to late hours of the evening, since the team was rather short on time due to Eurovision deadlines. “I wanted to have animations, which few people in our regions can do. Taking all this into consideration, the decision on why hire him was not difficult to make,” argues the singer who will be representing Slovenia in the second pre-selection evening on 12 May, attempting to win Slovenia a spot in the Eurovision grand finale for the third year in a row.
