The international wine competition is considered as one of the top 10 festivals of its kind in the world.

The festival saw more than 300 types of wine from all around the world – from Japan to Uruguay; among them also wine from all of Slovenia's wine regions.

The festival will be followed by a complementary wine fair in Ljubljana In September. All winners will receive their certificates and prizes at the wine fair on September 3rd.

Around 90 percent of Slovenia's vineyards are smaller than a hectare of land. There are twenty-nine thousand registered winegrowers in the country.
