The Police is investigating the cause of the fire; firemen suspect arson.
At first the firemen managed to confine the fire which started between Branik and Komen, but due to the bora wind and the inaccessible terrain the fire spread again in the afternoon.

Three Karst villages were in danger, and the local inhabitants were in fear of their property. But only a shed and a small tractor were lost in the fire, and nobody was severely hurt. The firemen are familiar with the terrain, as they had already had fires at the area.
It seems that this was not an accidental fire, but arson. The Police statements are still guarded, as they are waiting for the results of the investigation.
