According to the commission around 3,000 health workers, almost half of which were doctors, have earned 150 million euros with work in private companies. The vast majority of such employees were from Ljubljana’s University Medical Centre. The commission believes that such mixing of private and public sectors increased the risk of corruption. The Medical Chamber said that it supported the reform in the health care system, but that there were not enough doctors in the public health system to perform all services during their regular working hours.
