In the Dolenjska Museum, there were exactly three exhibitions dedicated to the World War I. The author and museum curator Marjeta Bregar says that Dolenjska, despite the distance from the first battle lines, felt the consequences of the war.

The exhibition, which emphasizes the year 1918, does not display any weapons, because they want to point out the fact that the war did not take place only on the battlefields, but also on the outskirts. The photographs, written documents, the belongings of soldiers from Dolenjska, their decorations, the stories from the battlefields, their happy returns, memorial plaques of the deceased and the life stories of the locals are also displayed at the exhibition.

The exhibition, which will be opened until January 15, is complemented by the documentary-artistic film Jože Pogačnik Saraband for the 17th regiment, in which participants from Mokronog shared their memories of the war.
