The Italians will buy 100% of Adriatic Slovenica for 245 million euros, giving it almost one fifth of the Slovene insurance market. As part of the deal, Generali also gets the KD group, which manages 34 investment funds in Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia, one of them being the first Slovene mutual fund KD Galileo. In total, the KD group manages funds of approximately 531 million euros.

The purchase price, quite high by Slovene standards, is nothing special for Generali, which is number one in Italy and the third largest in Austria. Only last year, it generated a record total of 2 billion euros net profit.
