The changes within the Exercise of Rights to Public Funds Act become effective, expanding the eligibility for free lunch also to children from families categorized into the second and the third income bracket.
Before these changes became effective, only children from the first income bracket were eligible for 100-% subsidized lunch; those are the families in which the average monthly income per person is up to 18% of average monthly salary.
Children from the second income bracket, with the average monthly income per person is between 18 and 30% of average monthly salary, were entitled to 70% subsidized lunch, and those from the second income bracket, with the average monthly income per person is between 30 and 36% of average monthly salary, were entitled to 40% subsidized lunch.
The low amendment of exercise of rights to public funds is now expanding the eligibility for 100% subsidized lunch to families with average monthly income per person up to 36% of average monthly salary.
Parents will receive notices with a decision on child allowance
The Ministry of Labour assures that the rightful claimants will receive the notice with a decision on child allowance, so that as much parents as possible will be informed of their rights – until now approximately 15% of families failed to take advantage of the right, although they had been entitled to it even before the amendment.
