Amidst the flood of cooking shows, books and cook diaries, we thought it would be appropriate to dedicate our first Wood for Food collection to cooking," say Janez Mesarič, Maša Majce Mesarič and Petra Bukovski, all graduated designers from the Academy of Fine Art and Design who realize their creative abilities within the Mashoni design studio.

They came up with the brand Ribrand, a name made up of the first three letters of the town Ribnica and the English word 'brand'. "It’s pronounced 'rebrand', which means changing something which already exists. And that’s exactly what we want to achieve: to enrich Ribnica’s heritage of making woodenware with a new, modern approach. It’s regarded as an 'old' tradition, and we wish to bring it back to life and redesign it in a completely new story," explain the designers.
