During Slovenian A-team's practice in Innsbruck, the 34-year-old Slovenian ski jumper encountered a problem with his skis, which threw him off balance immediately after he jumped, which resulted in a fall on the landing area. He was taken to Jesenice Hospital and diagnosed with a serious arm injury that requires an operation.

The Slovenian team reported that Kranjec was nonetheless feeling well and would leave the hospital on Saturday.

The ski jumping World Cup season is due to open on 21 and 22 November at Klingenthal.
