The public has been wondering for some time now whether Slovenia has already purchased fences for enhanced surveillance of our Southern border. Already on Tuesday PM Miro Cerar announced the erection of fences should the number of migrants escalate, Nataša Mule reported for Radio Slovenija.

This leads to conclusion that the government has already purchased fences, although that fact has not been disclosed yet; it is supposedly a matter of confidential nature nobody wants to comment on. The Government Communication Office issued the following information: "Should the situation become incontrollable, and Austria and Germany restrict the admission of refugees, Slovenia would enhance border control, also by erecting a fence if necessary." And: "Technical devices are ready, should a political decision be made," Saša Krajnc reported for TV Slovenija.

A number of questions, e.g. what kind of technical devices, how many, and where they came from, remained unanswered.
